Recovery Breakfast ideas!!

Here are some of the breakfasts I've tried the past couple weeks.... I'm really enjoying the freedom to make my own meals and I am having fun with it! Here we go.

Breakfast burrito:
Scramble a couple eggs, heat up some beans (whole or refried. I use vegetarian refried beans). Warm up a big flour tortilla and put in eggs and beans and salsa of hot sauce if you like that! You could add a lot of things to this... Cheese, potatoe, other veggies, sour cream.... Whatever you put in breakfast burritos are delicious!!

Oatmeal. And not boring "sick" eating disorder oatmeal. You can cook your oats or have them sit overnight to make overnight oats. Both are delicious. I add peanut butter, fruit, soy milk (any kind of milk works), yogurt, nuts, dried fruit, maple syrup, honey, jelly or jam... The possibilities are endless! Find what tastes good to you. Experiment and find the perfect mix! 

Pancakes :) I made pancakes this weekend and they were delicious!!! You can use a mix like bisquick or you can make them from scratch. I added blueberries. You could add chocolate chips, cocoa powder, other fruits... And of course top with syrup or jam, butter, and if you like ice cream or whipped cream, or both! Have fun with it! Waffles are great as well. Go crazy with the toppings :)

Yogurt and granola: I like Greek yogurt. The really rich yogurt makes my stomach upset but it's truly delicious and full of protein and I reccomend it 100%. There are all kinds of granolas and cereals... Find the one that tastes the best to you. I like kashi crunch, cinnamon toast crunch, raisin bran... To be honest I love all cereal. Any cereal works. Add fruit and honey and maple syrup and nuts!

Smoothies: the concoctions are endless!!! I like banana and peanut butter smoothies. Add any kind of milk; oats; juices, Ice cream, yogurt, fruits, nuts, cream, honey, syrup, jam, nut butters... Seriously the possibilities are enormous. I had a problem with smoothies for a long time but I enjoy them now! Find a big tall cup with a thick straw and knock yourself out :)

Bagels are a favorite of mine: there are so many kinds, and they are really dense and yummy! I like cinnamon raisin with peanut butter and banana (there I go again with pb and banana). I like salty bagels, like everything or onion, with cream cheese. Sweet bagels are delicious with strawberry or honey nut cream cheese as well. Plain bagels are just boring to me. But I'll eat them with lots of good stuff on them.

Muffins!!!! Muffins are AMAZING. Blueberry, banana nut, cinnamon, lemon poppy seed, pumpkin, apple, chocolate chip.. I love muffins. They pack a lot of nutrition and are delicious. I like making mine from scratch in giant Texas muffin tins. None of this tiny muffin tin business! Enjoy with milk or hot cocoa or coffee or a smoothie... So yummy.

Egg sandwiches. Kind of like the burrito but different hehe. Too an English muffin or bagel with an egg or two, cheese, bacon or turkey bacon, or sausage or ham (I don't eat pork or red meat but you might). Slather on butter and you have a great portable breakfast that is salty and substantial. Eat with hot sauce or ketchup or whatever sounds good to you. So easy.

So there are my breakfast ideas. I think breakfast is my favorite meal of the day! I could eat breakfast for every meal. Do you have any other ideas??
